Jellyfin

Use these steps to run Jellyfin with Docker Compose.

Create the Compose File

Create a docker-compose.yml file with the Jellyfin service:

services:
jellyfin:
image: jellyfin/jellyfin:latest
container_name: jellyfin
network_mode: host
volumes:
- /srv/jellyfin/config:/config
- /srv/jellyfin/cache:/cache
- /media:/media
restart: unless-stopped

You can also use the GitHub Container Registry image if preferred:

image: ghcr.io/jellyfin/jellyfin:latest

Create the Storage Directories

Create the Jellyfin config and cache directories:

sudo mkdir -p /srv/jellyfin/{config,cache}

Start Jellyfin

Run Docker Compose from the directory containing docker-compose.yml:

docker compose up -d

Jellyfin will be available at http://localhost:8096.

Reverse Proxy / HTTPS

If you need public HTTPS access, put Jellyfin behind a reverse proxy like Nginx Proxy Manager.
